Overview of SGT
Faculty of Commerce and Management has organized a seminar captioned “ ” on 24th December 2021 at 11:00 AM- 01:00 PM in Room No. 209, A Block.
Mr. Sanjay Sharan belongs to the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Central Excise). He has done M.A. and also Management Development Program from IIM, Lucknow. He also has had training/interactions with the London School of Economics, Cambridge University, Nyenrode University (Holland), LKYSPP (Singapore University), Graduate School of Business of SKK University (South Korea), and IIM(Kozhikode). He also worked at the policy-making decisions while posted with the Legal Section of Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. He has got several rewards to his credit for the detection of cases of tax evasion.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Arora welcomed the guest speaker, Mr. Sanjay Sharan, by presenting a memento and addressed the students about the imperative of GST. Mr. Sanjay Sharan started the session with the overview and the new developments of GST. He further enlightened students with central taxes, taxation policies, and implications of GST. The students found the session highly relevant and knowledge-enhancing.
