The Faculty of Commerce and Management organized a workshop captioned “Contemporary Challenges in Automotive Industry” on 27th November 2021 from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM, at A-318, SGT University. While welcoming the students and faculty members, PVC Dr. R K Mitra advised the students to expand their horizons of thought and learn about steel and the automotive industry. Dean Dr. Rajesh Arora exhorted the students to understand the growth of Electric vehicles and build their careers in the industry. The session was delivered by eminent speaker Mr. Amit Kumar Singh, who has over 16 years of experience with Tata Steel and is currently responsible for B2B steel sales to Automotive OEMs and their ancillaries in Delhi NCR. He expounded about steel dynamics in India, the scope of the steel and automotive industry, and account management between steel and the automotive industry. Further, he elaborated how Indian Automotive Industry is facing several headwinds leading to the downward trend in production, new emerging scenarios in the Indian Automotive industry, thrust towards Electric vehicles, and the Job opportunities in the sector. The students found the session highly relevant and knowledge-enhancing.
